I’ve been collecting MAC lipsticks since I was in high school. It’s not a massive collection, but I love them and I have shades I actually want to use.
Persistence: This is the newest edition to the family. The website describes it as a peachy cinnamon color, and I call it my perfect nude. I’ve been using persistence the most frequently because it’s such an everyday color for me. Persistence is a matte finish but still super comfortable to wear all day long.
Del Rio: Del Rio is my favorite lipstick when I want a nice everyday color. I like to layer her underneath my Nyx matte liquid lipstick in french maid to make everything more comfortable. The color is described as a muted plum brown and is a satin finish.
Stone: Stone is what I use when I want a full on spice girls 90’s lip. My skin tone pulls the brown color more heavily than the taupe that others tend to get out of it. It is a matte finish (are we sensing a trend?) and a muted greyish taupe brow (straight from mac cosmetics website).
Rebel: My first love. Rebel is the first MAC lipstick I’ve ever owned and I have worn her to DEATH. I got her when I was into super bold lips because I couldn’t blend eye shadow. At one point, I would wear rebel every single day.
Viva Glam 1: This is my perfect red lipstick. It felt good to buy it because MAC donates money to an AIDS charity whenever someone buys products from the viva glam line.
March is over and that means favorites time! I rounded up my top items of the month to share. I did a video this time because I will get the hang of this youtube thing!
Here is everything I mentioned. It’s also in the description box of my videos! There will always be little easter eggs of something I mentioned.

Spring seems to have skipped straight over Florida but I’m still dressing like it! Using a denim jacket in Spring is ideal because it’s lighter than most sweaters and versatile to use with different looks. I wore this outfit to work and it was a hit at the office! I also switched up my florals and wore the pattern with a dark base. The small bouquets break up the dark and it made for a beautiful contrast. I kept the shoes basic because it’s what I prefer for work, but this can definitely look amazing with red shoes or a pair of lace up sandals with the colorful pom poms.

From Zac Posen to DKNY, Jeremy Scott to Christian Siriano, one makeup trend for Spring 2017 stands out above all: Fresh clean skin. While some designers added bold lips, eyes, and brows, the face was left to the natural beauty of the runway models, and this is such an amazing trend for the everyday. We can store our full coverage foundations for now, because embracing our freckles and small imperfections are in! Exciting update: I’m going to try and translate a few posts at a time into Spanish!!! It’s not the best right now because I’m used to speaking, not writing. It’s scary but with any skill it takes practice.
I created two looks inspired by SS 17 fashion week. The first is more for daytime. I used a medium coverage foundation and concealer to even out my skin and cover my dark circles. Then I used a peach blush and a little bit of bronzer to add dimension and color. I also used the same blush and bronzer on my eyes to keep things simple. I finished off with mascara for an easy look that took me 15 miutes tops! The “night” look is even simpler: I added black liner and shadow for an easy smoky eye, and a berry lipstick to add drama.
So I did some shopping over the past month and a half… The good news is that I’ll have a ton of inspiration for new posts and videos for the next few weeks. The bad news is that now I have to find a new reason to justify my purchases lol. I filmed a video hauling my nw stash I will leave links to everything I showed in the description box of the video as well as here, happy watching!

Florida is warming up! That means that the thermostats are about to be dropped and I have to still dress like it’s fall for the indoors. I wanted to stay on the cozy side for work to shake the Monday blues a little.
- Top is H&M
- Jeans are Forever 21
- cardigan is Forever 21 (similar)
- shoes are from Aldo
- I got my necklace at Broadway Con and cannot for the life of me remember the name of the vendor 😦
I want to start a series about the articles and magazines I read in my down time. I realize that I read so much more than just books, and they deserve their moment too. They’ll be more frequent than regular books reviews, with varying content depending on what I read.
Vogue Feb 2017
SINGLED Out: This turned out to be one of the favorite blurbs that I read from this month’s Vogue. The short interview with Gideon Glick is about the new Joshua Harmon play ” Significant Other”. Glick plays a man who sees his closest friends start to get married and he has a hard time with love and such things. In the article, Glick talks about his character’s “Obsessive parsing of social media in pursuit of romance.” It captures how romance is changing in today’s society. I liked how relateable the play seems and I would love the chance to go see it (slim chances).
Full Exposure: This article is about Fifty Shades actress Dakota Johnson. It tells a short recap of her past, and then she talks about roles she likes taking on, and the type of films she likes to be a part of. I LOVE articles where you can see what the actor being interviewed is really like. We get too caught up in their amazing portrayals on screen, that we forget how different the actor is from their characters.
